ADDITIONAL RECTRUITMENT

WE KINDLY INFORM THAT THE RECRUITMENT FOR THE International Summer
School for Doctoral Students “Modern and Sustainable Chemical Risk Assessment
and Mitigation” (PhD-RiSK) for the PhD students of the Univeristy of Gdańsk

HAS BEEN EXTANDED TILL 24 April 2026.

The results of the second part of recruitment will be announced till 27 APRIL 2026.

The remaining requirements remain unchanged.

Who May Apply

The program is open to doctoral candidates who, at the time of recruitment, hold an
active doctoral student status at the University of Gdańsk or a foreign university, and
whose research interests relate to chemistry, environmental sciences, or related disciplines.
Applicants must have communicative English proficiency (minimum B1 – Intermediate level).

How to Apply

To participate in the recruitment process, applicants must:

1. Complete the electronic application form available on the Summer School
web-site: ADDITIONAL RECRUITMENT – REGISTRATION FORM – International Summer School – Gdańsk – Fill in form

2. Submit electronic copies of the following documents to the Organisers (phdrisk@ug.edu.pl):

  • Participant in Another Form of Education Registration Form (Appendix No. 1)
  • curriculum vitae (CV)
  • motivation letter
  • letter of recommendation or references from a researcher affiliated with the
    home institution
  • document confirming active doctoral student status at the time of
    recruitment
  • certificate or other document confirming English language proficiency
    (minimum B1)

The application form also includes a section to indicate special needs for accessibility
or participation.

Selection and Notification

Applications will be assessed by a Recruitment Committee based on eligibility and
a point-based assessment:

Scoring criteria

  • English proficiency: B1 – 1 pt, B2 – 2 pts, C1 or higher – 3 pts
  • Motivation letter – up to 3 pts based on relevance, clarity, and engagement
    potential
  • Maximum score: 6 points.
  • In case of a tie, the Committee may conduct a short online interview in
    English to differentiate candidates.
  • Candidates will be notified of the recruitment results via email no later than 3
    April 2026.
  • The final list of participants will be published on 10 April 2026
  • Selected participants must submit the following signed documents in hard
    copy  to the Organiser by post to the address: PhD-RiSk Summer School, ul.
    Wita Stwosza 63, 80-309 Gdańsk, Poland as soon as possible, no later than
    within 2 weeks:
    – Declaration of participation
    – Participant personal data form
    – Declaration on personal data processing (GDPR, NAWA requirements)
    – Additional consents required under NAWA SPINAKER rules
    – Summer School Participation Agreement

Failure to submit these documents on time may result in loss of the right to
participate.
Selected participants must also register in the NAWA ICT system for monitoring
and reporting purposes within 14 days of qualification and before the start of the
Summer School.

Project Information

The International Summer School for Doctoral Students “Modern and Sustainable
Chemical Risk Assessment and Mitigation” (PhD-RiSK) is implemented by the
University of Gdańsk within the NAWA SPINAKER – Intensive International
Educational Programmes (project no. BPI/SPI/2024/1/00039).
The project is financed under the European Funds for Social Development
2021–2027 (FERS), co-financed by the European Union from the European Social
Fund Plus.

The Summer School will take place on-site from 11–15 May 2026 at the University
of Gdańsk and consists of 40 contact hours of lectures, workshops, laboratory
work, and field activities.
Participation is free of charge. Financial support (travel, accommodation, stipend) is
provided to qualified international doctoral candidates according to NAWA
SPINAKER rules.
